The PSP has never really been the must have gadget. When it was, cheap psp
, released several years ago it was a gaming device with extras. But since then the consumer changed and other features become important.
I know this is a dodgy intro but please, cheap psp
, allow me to explain. The PSP was a gaming handheld released at a 250 price point when it got released.
But then two years later internet became more mainstream and important. And the core design of the PSP wasn’t aimed at internet features. For example the WLAN switch is a stupid Engineering fault and it shouldn’t have been there. The operating system wasn’t really internet friendly, neither was the Wi-Fi adapter, it can’t even do G! With the iPod touch doing games and media, a new feature became more important and again the PSP lacked behind.
Consumers wanted to play music and watch videos on their handheld and the PSPs core wasn’t designed for that. It’s too big and fat to be a multimedia device. Admittedly the video quality is great and the music features decent.
So the PSP doesn’t do a lot of things right. It isn’t the best multi media player, nor is it fantastic on the internet. But then there’s the gaming feature. The fantastic thing about the PSP is that you can play blockbuster, cheap psp
, games on it everywhere.
Final Fantasy, Gran Turismo, and Little Big Planet just to name a few. And the experience is amazing. Most games play and look great. It is exactly what you would want from a portable device. The screen size is spot on and the controls are comfortable even during the longer gaming sessions. But awkward hardware decisions should again be noted. The speakers for example aren’t very loud. and we didn’t like the thousand buttons on the thing.
There’s a brightness button, but the brightest is not so bright and therefor best for almost every situation. We don’t like the volume buttons, cheap psp
, much and again the WLAN internet switch is just plain useless. I understand that it should support, cheap psp
, the battery but why not just program the OS to use the built in Wi-Fi during online tasks online, rather than to let the user make the switch.
The design and hardware decisions are, cheap psp
, questionable in our opinion but other people seem to love it. We don’t like the plastic feel of it or the thousand buttons. It all makes the device feel cheap and makes it look big. In fact it could just barely fit my pocket. But with that said the buttons feel great and the screen quality, cheap psp
,, cheap psp
, -aside from the lack of brightness- is amazing.
The PSP 3000 ships for about, cheap psp
, 150 euros so it’s pretty cheap. And it has a good list of blockbuster titles with more incoming so it’s a good value. Granted it isn’t the best looking portable, cheap psp
, or most practical device on the market but it is a great gaming device for an affordable price, and nothing more.
